The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), the top level of competition in Riot Games’ first-person shooter VALORANT, will be relaunched in February 2023. There will be ten teams in each of the four regions (EMEA, Americas, Pacific, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
The competition for VCT spots was fierce. Before becoming admitted, teams had to apply and pass through Riot Games’ stringent screening process. Although there was never a formal tally of applicants, a Dot Esports article claimed that hundreds of businesses were excited about the chance. The 2021 world champions Acend and G2 Esports were among the several teams who failed to advance in Europe’s very competitive franchising procedure.
One European team that did make the cut was Giants, a Spanish team that has participated in VALORANT since 2020.
Giants’ CEO and founder, Jose R. Dáz, recently discussed the next season from the standpoint of the Spanish company with Esports Insider.
The Giants’ founder and CEO is Jose R. Diaz. We appreciate the Giants for allowing us to use their emblem in this picture.
Conflict over a VCT Partnership
Before a team can be included to the VCT, Riot Games has to be absolutely confident that they are a reliable partner and solid business. Giants have spent years getting ready to match the high criteria of major leagues like the VCT EMEA, according to Daz, and the process can take several months to complete.
Each club, in Daz’s perspective, “each club has its own model, its own way of working,” Riot must, however, confirm the feasibility and sustainability of your business. This process, which I should point out started quite some time ago, contains numerous steps, each of which necessitates an in-depth discussion of this specific subject. A favorable decision is a resounding endorsement of the club’s management, structure, and record of performance.
Giants participates in a variety of esports, such as League of Legends, CS:GO, and VALORANT. The Giants finished second in the European VCT 2021 Stage 3 Challengers 2 and third and fourth in the Spanish VRL 2022 while participating in VALORANT.
fervorous zeal in Spanish
Dáz alleges he “simply went crazy.” while driving after learning of the VCT clearance. Dáz, his wife and Giants co-owner Virginia Calvo, and the rest of the team felt a “blast of happiness” when they learned the news. Given the zeal of the Spanish people, one can only speculate on the news’s effect on the Giants.
Reality must not, however, be overlooked. The VCT is a dangerous place for Giants. In the league, teams like Team Liquid, Fnatic, and NAVI are regulars. KOI from Spain and Team Heretics from France are two other teams who are top competitors. Fnatic and Team Liquid seem to be the top teams in the VCT EMEA on paper, but anybody can win.
Giant-sized people are aware that anything may happen. Despite admitting that the competition is fierce, Daz is certain that his team is up to the task. He said something that showed some of his enthusiasm for Spain:
I believe that we should face everyone directly, without any complacency, and exert all of our effort. Instead of being another squad out there, we want to be the greatest one. Giants always have the goal of winning in mind when they join a server. After the season is over, we’ll take another look at how those rankings compare.
Daz, though, declines to make assumptions about his team’s VCT status. Nevertheless, he pledged that his team will do its very best to compete at the top levels in the main EMEA tour events.
The Giants VCT Partnership, which will assist all teams, provided the image.
Giants’ inclusion in the VCT will have a significant impact on the corporation as a whole. Daz suggested that by entering the league, the company’s value would increase, its potential would increase, and its reach would increase.
The VCT has a far lower entry fee than previous Riot Games events, which may cost up to $20 million to join.
According to Dáz, the Giants’ participation in the VCT has attracted interest from potential new partners and sponsors, and 2023 will be a turning point in this regard. The team’s sales department is already looking for partners for the next season.
Teams participating in VALORANT thus far have received substantial financial support from Riot Games. Sales of the Champions Package, a cosmetics bundle, brought in $32 million for Riot in 2022, with half of that amount going to the teams who advanced to VALORANT Champions 2022. The Bundle brought in around $1 million in earnings for each organization.
By allowing clubs to share a larger portion of their revenue with Riot, the 2023 VALORANT competitive circuit revisions would transform the VCT into one of the most profitable esports leagues, which will be beneficial to underdog teams like the Giants. By joining the VCT, Giants may be able to get the funds they need to grow beyond the VALORANT.
Giants has expanded its cooperation with chocolate company KitKat and included Web3 platform FITCHIN since the release of the VCT EMEA teams.

Who are the VALORANT VCT partner teams in EMEA?
2023 is the target year
The VCT EMEA circuit will take place in Germany, much as another of Riot’s major contests, the League of Legends EMEA Championship. Clubs will need to relocate their operations to Germany since the split will take place there. This might be a logistical challenge and require coaches and players to adapt to a new timetable.
Dáz informed us during our talk that the club was seeking for a pleasant office setting in Berlin for the players and coaches. Of course, the rest of the staff and the content team are also affected by this. The following was said by Dáz:
The Valorant squad currently consists of both former Giants players and new faces, although its headquarters will stay in Costa del Sol, Malaga.
The VCT LOCK/IN 2023 After the first VCT EMEA matches are played in February, Paulo will be a large event in Brazil that will feature all partner clubs and serve as the season’s formal start. The success of the VCT will be significantly impacted by the tone that the giants set.
